B. Controlled Low Strength Material fill used for pipe bedding shall comply with the <br /> requirernents as specified in Section 02210. <br /> 2.02 BACKFILL <br /> A. Trench backfill shall comply with Section 02200 and the applicable section for the <br /> type of facility being installed. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 TRENCHING <br /> A. Trench excavation shall be unclassified. <br /> B. The terms "earthwork" or"excavation" include all materials excavated or removed <br /> regardless of material characteristics. <br /> C. Make an estimate of the kind and extent of materials that will be encountered in <br /> the excavation. <br /> D. Provide free access to all fire hydrants, water valves, and meters. Leave <br /> clearance to enable the free flow of storm water in all gutters, conduits and <br /> natural watercourses. <br /> E. Remove all ledge rock, boulders and stones 4 inches and larger to provide a <br /> minimum clearance of 12 inches under and around the pipe as shown on <br /> Drawings. <br /> F. Replace all excavated material with engineered fill material that meets the <br /> requirements of Section 02200. <br /> G. In loose or soft soils, perform the excavation at the bottom of the trench by <br /> equipment that does not have digging teeth. Should the natural or fill foundation <br /> soils at the trench bottom be disturbed or loosened because of the Contractor's <br /> operations, re-compact or remove. If material is removed, refill the area with <br /> material as specified in Section 02200. <br /> 3.02 TRENCHING FOR PIPELINES <br /> A. Excavate all trenches in accordance with the lines and grades shown on the <br /> Drawings. Typical trench sections with maximum and minimum dimensions are <br /> shown on Drawings. <br /> 3.03 PIPE FOUNDATIONS <br /> A. Inadequate Soils: <br /> 1.
