2. Fill the excavated space to the specified grade with structural backfill per <br /> Section 02200. <br /> 3. All costs involved in the excavation and disposal of the inadequate soil <br /> material and placement of the fill shall be considered over-excavation. <br /> 4. Should the excavation be carried below the lines and grades indicated on <br /> the Drawings because of the Contractor's operations, refill such <br /> excavated space to the proper elevation. <br /> B. Foundation Preparation: <br /> 1 Properly prepare the foundation and place the foundation material prior to <br /> installation of all pipe bedding and pipe. <br /> 2. This shall include the necessary preparation of the native trench bottom <br /> and/or the top of the foundation material to a uniform grade so that the <br /> entire length of pipe rests firmly on a suitable properly compacted <br /> material. <br /> 3. Place bedding and backfill material around the pipe in a manner to meet <br /> requirements specified in the respective section for the type of pipe being _ <br /> installed. <br /> 3.04 PIPE BEDDING <br /> A. Placement of bedding material and fabric wrap in the pipe zone shall be as <br /> indicated on the Drawings or as specified in the section regarding the type of <br /> pipe being constructed. <br /> 3.05 BACKFILLING <br /> A. Complete pipe bedding and initial backfill as shown on the Drawings before <br /> subsequent backfilling operations are started. <br /> B. Take all necessary precautions to protect the pipe from any damage, movement <br /> or shifting. In general, perform backfilling by placing the material so as not to <br /> damage the pipe. <br /> C. Provide for the proper maintenance of traffic flow and accessibility as may be <br /> necessary, and make adequate provisions for the safety of property and persons. <br /> D. Unless specifically authorized in writing by the Engineer, remove temporary <br /> cribbing, sheeting or other timbering. <br /> E.
