5. Fitting Requirements: ASTM F477 <br /> 2.02 GENERAL <br /> A. All PVC pipe shall be continuously and permanently marked with the <br /> manufacturer's name, pipe size, dimension ratio and/or pressure rating. _ <br /> B. All pipe shall be marked with the date of extrusion on the pipe. This dating shall <br /> be done in conjunction with records to be held by the manufacturer for two years, <br /> covering quality control tests, raw material batch number, and other information <br /> deemed necessary by the manufacturer. <br /> C. All materials incidental to PVC pipe installations such as gaskets, joint lubricants, <br /> cements, etc. shall be supplied by the manufacturer. <br /> D. All PVC pipe required in odd lengths shall be cut using proper cutting tools and — <br /> guide, as recommended by manufacturer that insures true-line cut on planes <br /> perpendicular to the pipe axis. No bevel cuts for alignment adjustments will be <br /> permitted. <br /> E. Pipe joints and fillings shall be factory assembled, integral wall bell and spigot <br /> configuration, compatible with the pipe. — <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 DIRECT-BURY INSTALLATION <br /> A. Joints <br /> 1. Bedding, backfill and compaction shall be as specified in Sections <br /> 02200. <br /> 2. Gasket shall be securely attached to the pipe to prevent displacement <br /> of the gasket when installed in the field. <br /> B. Connections: <br /> 1. Connect to manholes as specified on Drawings. _ <br /> 3.02 TESTING <br /> A. An exfiltration test shall be made by plugging the downstream end of the carrier — <br /> pipe and installing a standpipe to the carrier pipe's upstream end using <br /> appropriately sized 90-degree elbow fittings, plastic standpipe and flexible <br /> watertight couplings. The standpipe shall be temporarily secured within the <br /> manhole and shall extend up to or above the roadway elevation. The Contractor <br /> shall fill the standpipe and liner with water so that a head of at least 4 feet is <br /> provided above ground surface at the upstream manhole. The filled carrier pipe — <br /> shall be allowed to stand for a 2-hour test period.
