PART 2 — PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 PRE-CAST CONCRETE MANHOLES <br /> Unless otherwise indicated on the plans, manholes shall conform to standard pre-cast option as <br /> specified in the Standard Construction Specifications and Standard Plan No. 301 of the — <br /> Standard Specifications except inside diameter shall be 60 inches. Material shall conform to <br /> ASTM C478. Joints shall be made with preformed plastic sealing compound. <br /> 2.02 FRAMES AND COVERS <br /> Manhole frames and covers shall conform to the Standard Specifications and the details shown — <br /> on the Standard Plans. Frame and covers shall be as indicated on the Drawings with the <br /> lettering "SANITARY SEWER" cast into the top for sanitary sewers and "STORM DRAIN" cast <br /> into the top for storm drains. In addition, all manhole covers shall be bolt down type. <br /> 2.03 CATCH BASINS <br /> Unless otherwise indicated on the plans, catch basins shall conforming to the Standard — <br /> Specifications. Catch basins shall be pre-cast sectional catch basins with heavy duty steel <br /> grates. Grates and frames shall be hot-dipped galvanized after fabrication. Both catch basins <br /> and grates shall be suitable for H-20 wheel loading. Unless otherwise indicated, catch basins _ <br /> shall have 2 feet by 2 feet interior dimensions and 6-inch walls. Catch basins shall be as <br /> manufactured by Teichert Precast, Christy Concrete Products, Inc., Brooks Concrete Products, <br /> or equal. — <br /> 2.04 PVC LINER <br /> All manholes shall include interior protection consisting of T-Lock PVC Liner or approved equal <br /> and all joints double sealed with Ram-nek or Kent-Seal #2. PVC liner and joint sealant shall be <br /> installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> Manhole Liner Testing: All surfaces covered with lining, including welds, shall be tested with an <br /> approved electrical holiday detector; all welds shall be physically tested by a nondestructive <br /> probing method; each transverse welding strip shall be tested; all testing shall be preformed in <br /> accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and in the presence of the City Inspector; <br /> all damages and defects to lining shall be repaired (per manufacturer's recommendations) and <br /> retested at no additional compensation. <br /> PART 3— EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 EARTHWORK — <br /> The foundations for the manholes shall be prepared as specified in Section 02200 Earthwork <br /> except backfill under concrete collars shall be compacted to 95 percent of maximum density. <br /> 3.02 CATCH BASINS <br /> Pre-cast concrete sections shall be set as to be vertical and with section in true alignment. — <br /> Joints shall be primed and made with sealer applied in strict accordance with the manufacturer's <br /> printed instructions.
