J. Road Closures <br /> Any complete road closure shall be approved by Engineer and shall not exceed a period of — <br /> 5 minutes in duration. <br /> K. Pavement Restoration -- <br /> Provide temporary paving at the end of each work day. Minimum depth of temporary bituminous <br /> surfacing shall be 2 inches. — <br /> Once excavation and other construction activities begin at a work site, al work including <br /> permanent pavement restoration, pavement overlay, and striping shall be completed at that site <br /> within 30 calendar days. <br /> L. Existing Traffic Signal Modification and Restoration <br /> Work shall be in accordance with Section 86 of the State Specifications. <br /> Contact City and County two working days prior to work affecting traffic signal phasing or <br /> vehicular detection loops. <br /> Immediately restore traffic control detection loops that are cut, removed or otherwise disturbed <br /> to their original operation or as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor repairing all traffic <br /> signal devices shall meet the requirements as specified in Section 16100. <br /> MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> Traffic Control (Bid Item 1) shall be paid for on a lump sum basis. Measurement will be based <br /> on the percentage of work completed as determined by the Engineer, and the detailed schedule <br /> or breakdown of lump sum items as approved by the Engineer. <br /> The contract lump sum price paid for traffic control and public notice will include full <br /> compensation for conforming to these requirements, including all traffic control on all Bid Items, <br /> including but not limited to, that required by the City of Tracy and San Joaquin County and the <br /> current edition of the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Controls Devices published by <br /> California Department of Transportation and public notification as specified in the Contract <br /> Documents. <br /> The lump sum price paid shall include full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, <br /> equipment and incidentals and for doing all the work involved in traffic control, complete and in <br /> place, all as shown on the drawings, specified in the Standard Specifications, these special — <br /> provisions, and as directed by the Engineer, and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 2 TRENCH EXCAVATION SAFETY (BID ITEM 2) <br /> A. General <br /> This section specifies work involved in trench and structure excavation, providing adequate <br /> sheeting, shoring, and bracing all conforming to applicable safety regulations, for the installation <br /> or modification of structures, the installation of new sewer pipes and new water pipes, and <br /> related items of work as required on the plans, described in these Special Provisions, and <br /> Division III-7 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
