connecting to existing mains for the Engineer's approval to minimize contamination danger. <br /> Connections to existing facilities prior to obtaining satisfactory tests required by these <br /> specifications and the City of Tracy Standard Specifications will not be allowed. <br /> MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> 18" Water Mains (Bid Item 3) and 12" Water Mains (Bid Item 4) shall be paid for on a linear <br /> foot basis. Measurement will be based on the actual number of linear feet of pipe installed as <br /> determined by measurement along the pipeline. <br /> Full compensation for conforming to these requirements includes all the work involved in water <br /> pipe installation including excavation, pavement removal, dewatering, furnishing and placement <br /> of water pipe, fittings, couplings, bedding, fabric wrap around pipe bedding, polywrap around <br /> pipe, backfill and compaction, temporary paving, testing, disinfecting, and coatings for <br /> completion of the work:. <br /> Water main connection shall be installed only under City and SSJID approval and continuous <br /> inspection. No payment will be made for water main connection not installed under City and <br /> SSJID approval and continuous inspection. <br /> Steel water pipe and valves at the NEI tank and pump station site will be paid for as part of the <br /> NEI Tank Site Improvements bid item. <br /> 16" Butterfly Valves (Bid Item 5) and 12" Butterfly Valves (Bid Item 6) shall be paid for on a unit <br /> basis. Measurement for unit price work will be based on the actual number of units installed, <br /> complete in place, as determined by the Engineer, and the unit price bid as approved by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 2" Combination Air Release / Vacuum Valves (Bid Item 7) shall be paid for on a unit basis. <br /> Measurement for unit price work will be based on the actual number of units installed, complete <br /> in place, as determined by the Engineer, and the unit price bid as approved by the Engineer. <br /> 4" Blowoffs (Bid Item 8) shall be paid for on a unit basis.
