Welding inspection personnel or NDT firms to be used in the work shall not be employed or compensated by any <br /> subcontractor, or by other persons or entities hired by subcontractors, who will provide other services or materials for the <br /> project, except for when the welding is performed at a permanent fabrication or manufacturing facility which is certified <br /> under the AISC Quality Certification Program,Category Sbd,Conventional Steel Building Structures. <br /> Welding Qualification Audit <br /> Contractors or subcontractors performing welding operations for pole structures shall not deliver materials to the project <br /> without having successfully completed the Department's "Manufacturing Qualification Audit for Overhead Sign and Pole <br /> Structures," hereinafter referred to as the audit, not more than one year prior to the delivery of the materials. The Engineer <br /> will perform the audit. Copies of the audit form,and procedures for requesting and completing the audit, are available at the <br /> Transportation Laboratory or.at: <br /> http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/esc/Translab/smbresources.htm <br /> An audit that was approved by the Engineer no more than one year prior to the beginning of work on this contract will be <br /> acceptable for the entire period of this contract, provided the Engineer determines the audit was for the same type of work <br /> that is to be performed on this contract. <br /> Successful completion of an audit shall not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility for furnishing materials or <br /> producing finished work of the quality specified in these special provisions and as shown on the plans. <br /> Welding Report <br /> For work welded in conformance with the provisions in Section 86-2.04, "Standards, Steel Pedestals and Posts," of the <br /> Standard Specifications, a Welding Report shall be submitted in conformance with the provisions in "Welding Quality <br /> Control"of these special provisions. <br /> PAYMENT <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of "Welding" shall be considered as included in the contract <br /> prices paid for the various items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor. <br /> SECTION 9. (BLANK) <br /> SECTION 10. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS <br /> SECTION 10-1. GENERAL <br /> 10-1.01 ORDER OF WORK <br /> Order of work shall conform to the provisions in Section 5-1.05, "Order of Work," of the Standard Specifications and <br /> these special provisions. <br /> Temporary railing(Type:K)and temporary crash cushions shall be secured in place prior to commencing work for which <br /> the temporary railing and crash cushions are required. <br /> Attention is directed to"Water Pollution Control" of these special provisions regarding the submittal and approval of the <br /> Water Pollution Control Program prior to performing work having potential to cause water pollution. <br /> The first order of work shall be to place the order for the sign panels and electrical material. <br /> Prior to commencement of the traffic signal functional test at any location, all items of work related to signal control <br /> shall be completed and all roadside signs,pavement delineation,and pavement markings shall be in place at that location. <br /> 10-1.02 WATER POLLUTION CONTROL <br /> GENERAL <br /> Water pollution control work shall conform to the provisions in Section 7-1.01G, "Water Pollution," of the Standard <br /> Specifications, section of these special provisions entitled "Relations With California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board,"and these special provisions. <br /> The Contractor shall perform water pollution control work in conformance with the requirements in the "Storm Water <br /> Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Water Pollution Control Program (WPCP) Preparation Manual" and addenda in <br /> effect on the day the Notice to Contractors is dated.
