The tenth paragraph of Section 86-1.06, "Maintaining Existing and Temporary Electrical Systems," of the Standard
<br /> Specifications is amended to:read:
<br /> • These provisions will not relieve the Contractor in any manner of the Contractor's responsibilities as provided in
<br /> Section 7-1.12, "Indemnification and Insurance," and Section 7-1.16, "Contractor's Responsibility for the Work and
<br /> Materials."
<br /> The first paragraph of Section 86-2.03, "Foundations,"of the Standard Specifications is amended to read:
<br /> • Except for concrete for cast-in-drilled-hole concrete pile foundations, portland cement concrete shall conform to
<br /> Section 90-10, "Minor Concrete."
<br /> The fourth paragraph in Section 86-2.03,"Foundations,"of the Standard Specifications is amended to read:
<br /> • After each post,standard,and pedestal on structures is in proper position,mortar shall be placed under the base plate
<br /> as shown on the plans. The exposed portions shall be formed to present a neat appearance. Mortar shall conform to Section
<br /> 51-1.135, "Mortar," except the mortar shall consist of one part by volume of cementitious material and 3 parts of clean sand
<br /> and shall contain only sufficient moisture to permit packing. Mortar shall be cured by keeping it damp for 3 days.
<br /> The fifth paragraph of Section 86-2.03, "Foundations,"of the Standard Specifications is amended to read:
<br /> • Reinforced cast-in-drilled-hole concrete pile foundations for traffic signal and lighting standards shall conform to
<br /> the provisions in Section 49, "Piling," with the following exceptions: 1) Material resulting from drilling holes shall be
<br /> disposed of in conformance with the provisions in Section 86-2.01, "Excavating and Backfilling,"and 2) Concrete filling for
<br /> cast-in-drilled-hole concrete piles will not be considered as designated by compressive strength.
<br /> The seventh paragraph of Section 86-2.03, "Foundations,"of the Standard Specifications is amended to read:
<br /> • Forms shall be true to line and grade. Tops of foundations for posts and standards, except special foundations, shall
<br /> be finished to curb or sidewalk grade or as directed by the Engineer. Forms shall be rigid and securely braced in place.
<br /> Conduit ends and anchor bolts shall be placed in proper position and to proper height,and anchor bolts shall be held in place
<br /> by means of rigid top and bottom templates. The bottom template shall be made of steel. The bottom template shall provide
<br /> proper spacing and alignment of the anchor bolts near their bottom embedded end. The bottom template shall be installed
<br /> before placing footing concrete. Anchor bolts shall not be installed more than 1:40 from vertical.
<br /> Section 86-2.03, "Foundations,"of the Standard Specifications is amended by deleting the eighth paragraph.
<br /> The twelfth paragraph of Section 86-2.03,"Foundations,"of the Standard Specifications is amended to read:
<br /> • Plumbing of the standards shall be accomplished by adjusting the leveling nuts before placing the mortar or before
<br /> the foundation is finished to final grade. Shims or other similar devices shall not be used for plumbing or raking of posts,
<br /> standards, or pedestals. After final adjustments of both top nuts and leveling nuts on anchorage assemblies have been made,
<br /> firm contact shall exist between all bearing surfaces of the anchor bolt nuts,washers,and the base plates.
<br /> The first paragraph of Section 86-2.04, "Standards, Steel Pedestals and Posts,"of the Standard Specifications is amended
<br /> to read:
<br /> • Bolts, nuts and washers, and anchor bolts for use in signal and lighting support structures shall conform to the
<br /> provisions in Section 55-2, "Materials." Except when bearing-type connections or slipbases are specified, high-strength
<br /> bolted connections shall conform to the provisions in Section 55-3.14, "Bolted Connections." Welding, nondestructive
<br /> testing (NDT) of welds, and acceptance and repair criteria for NDT of steel members shall conform to the requirements of
<br /> AWS D1.1 and the special provisions.
<br /> The second paragraph of Section 86-2.04, "Standards, Steel Pedestals and Posts," of the Standard Specifications is
<br /> amended to read:
<br /> • On each lighting standard except Type 1, one rectangular corrosion resistant metal identification tag shall be
<br /> permanently attached above the hand hole, near the base of the standard, using stainless steel rivets. On each signal pole
<br /> support, two contusion resistant metal identification tags shall be attached, one above the hand hole near the base of the
