<br />DEVICES ARE INSTALLED TO COMPLY WITH SECT. 2-5341(b5 OR 2-5342(d), THEY
<br />SHALL BE VISIBLY OR AUDIBLY WARN THE OCCUPANTS OR BUILDING OPERATORS WHEN

<br />HVAC SYSTEMS AND CONTROLS
<br />a. HEAT PUMP (IF ANY) SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH A CONTROL TO PREVENT
<br />SUPPLEMENTARY HEATER OPERATION WHEN THE HEATER LOAD CAN BE MET BY THE
<br />HEAT PUMP ALONE.
<br />b. IF CIRCULATING HOT WATER SYSTEM IS INSTALLED, IT SHALL HAVE A CONTROL
<br />CAPABLE OF AUTOMATICALLY TURNING OFF THE CIRCULATING PUMP(S) WHEN HOT

<br />e. ZONE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS SHALL BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN SPACE TEMPERATURE SET
<br />POINTS FROM 55 DEG.F. TO 85 DEG.F. TWO OR MORE REPLACEABLE FIXED SET POINT
<br />DEVICES, ONE FOR COOLING AND ONE FOR HEATING, MAY BE USED IN LIEU OF

<br />AUTOMATIC OR READILY ACCESSIBLE MANUALLY OPERATED DAMPERS IN ALL OPENINGS
<br />TO THE OUTSIDE, OTHER THAN COMBUSTION AIR OPENINGS, SHALL BE PROVIDED.
<br />EQUIPMENT
<br />a. ALL APPLIANCES LISTED IN TABLE 2-53G OF THE CALIFORNIA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
<br />SHALL HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED TO THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION BY ITS
<br />MANUFACTURER TO COMPLY WITH EFFICIENCY STANDARDS FOR SUCH APPLIANCES.
<br />b. IF ANY COOLING EQUIPMENT OF THE TYPE SPECIFIED ABOVE IS INSTALLED, IT SHALL
<br />MEET OR EXCEED THE CORRESPONDING MINIMUM EFFICIENCY IN TABLE 2-53H OF THE
<br />CAC.
<br />C. IF A FAN TYPE CENTRAL FURNACE WITH INPUT RATE OF AT LEAST 400,000 BTUH OR
<br />A GRAVITY TYPE CENTRAL FURNACE IS INSTALLED, IT SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM
<br />THERMAL EFFICIENCY OF 75%, AS CERTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER, BASED ON THE
<br />TEST PROCEDURE ANSI Z21.47-1978.
<br />d. IF OIL FIRED HEATING EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED, IT SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM
<br />COMBUSTION EFFICIENCY OF 75% AT MAXIMUM RATED OUTPUT, AS CERTIFIED BY
<br />MANUFACTURER OF THE EQUIPMENT.
<br />e. FAN TYPE WALL FURNACES AND CENTRAL FURNACES SHALL NOT BE EQUIPPED WITH
<br />CONTINUOUSLY BURNING PILOT, UNLESS THOSE DESIGNED TO BURN ONLY LIQUEFIED

<br />f. HEAT PUMP SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH CONTROLS TO PREVENT ELECTRIC RESISTANCE
