<br />1. ALL IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE

<br />SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS, AND THE LATEST EDITION OF THE

<br />UNDERSTOOD THAT ONLY THE BEST GENERAL PRACTICE IS TO PREVAIL
<br />AND THAT ONLY MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP OF THE FIRST QUALITY
<br />ARE TO BE USED.
<br />3.LINES AND GRADES: ALL DISTANCES AND MEASUREMENTS ARE GIVEN
<br />AND WILL BE MADE IN A HORIZONTAL PLANE. GRADES ARE GIVEN FROM
<br />THE TOP OF STAKES OR NAILS, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. THE

<br />6. • APPROPRIATE DUST CONTROL TO BE PROVIDED FOR
<br />TH ALLEVIATION OR PREVENTION OF DUST NUISANCE, AT TH1IR6QTOR'S EXPENSE
<br />7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL, STATE AND
<br />FEDERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO HIS OPERATIONS. HE
<br />SHALL PROVIDE ALL LIGHTS, SIGNS, BARRICADES, FLAGMEN OR OTHER
<br />DEVICES NECESSARY FOR PUBLIC SAFETY. THE CONTRACTOR'S
<br />ATtENTION IS CALLED TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF TITLE 8, CALIFORNIA
<br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, SUBCHAPTER 4, ARTICLE 6, "EXCAVATIONS,
<br />TRENCHES, EARTHWORK." SEE ALSO SECTION 5 OF SAN JOAQUIN
<br />COUNTY STANDARDS.
<br />8. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE
<br />RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS
<br />AND PROPERTY; THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY
<br />AND NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS; AND THAT THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD THE OWNER AND
<br />THE ENGINEER HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, REAL OR
<br />ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF WORK ON THE

<br />AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

<br />11. A TRENCH SHORING PLAN SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO AND DEAMED
