No defect is warranted at
this time.
The soffit of the RC slab in Spans 1 and 3 exhibited fire soot staining due to fires created by illegal campers. The staining
was more severe in Span 3. No distress due to the fires was evident.
There are areas of minor efflorescence present on the soffit of the original RC slab at Abutment 4 at the corners of the
original RC slab. Based on a comparison to the 03/25/2019 Photos 11 and 12, this condition has remained unchanged.
There are 0.02 inch wide longitudinal soffit cracks, spaced up to 18 inches on center in the original RC slab in Span 1.
There are 0.25 inch wide transverse and longitudinal cracks, spaced as close as 1 to 6 feet on center throughout the AC
overlay on the deck of the RC slab. Based on a comparison to the 03/25/2019 Photos 13 and 14, this condition has
remained unchanged.
There are 0.25 inch wide longitudinal cracks in the AC overlay on the deck above the interfaces between the original
structure and the left and right widenings.
There are up to 0.5 inch wide transverse cracks in the AC overly on the deck above the abutments.
These combined defects encompassed approximately 50% of the total AC overlay quantity.
(58) 7DECK RATING =
(36a) Rail Code 0010
330 Railing-Metal 2 41 m 41 0 0 0
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
RAIL INFORMATION
(36b) Transition (36c) Appr Guardrail (36d) Appr Guardrail End 35Roadway Speed MPH
JOINT - APPROACH - RAIL
(330) Railing-Metal
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
The bridge rails are galvanized.
There is paint present throughout the metal bridge rails that appeared to have been placed to cover graffiti.
No significant defects were observed.
Type 116
Rail Type
Right/Left
Location
216
Length (ft)
With RC sidewalk (5 feet 2 inches)
Rail Modifications
