See
Photo 2.
There are several patched areas in the AC overlay that are heaving and the previously report potholes have been filled with AC
material. These areas are up to 6 feet square and are generally near the supports and in the northbound lane. (See Photos 7 and 8
dated 06/08/2022). The concrete deck was previously spalled and sunken relative to surrounding concrete at these areas. The deck
concrete is assumed to have failed in these areas and a work recommendation was included in the 10/08/2014 report to remove
unsound concrete from both areas and patch back the concrete. It is assumed due to the deterioration of the patches that the
underlying concrete was not repaired. This condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
There are transverse cracks up to 0.02 inches wide and spaced 3 feet on center visible in the bare shoulder areas of the deck and
are reflected in the AC overlay at the supports. See Photo 3.
There is pattern cracking up to 0.06 inches wide and spaced as close as 3 inches on center with light to moderate efflorescence in
the soffit in Bays 3 and 4 near Abutment 1. (See Photos 6 and 7 dated 06/26/2018). There is similar cracking spaced as close as 3
feet on center through Span 1 and Bay 3 of Span 2, near Abutment 3. (See Photos 4 to 7 dated 06/14/2016).
These conditions have been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
(58) 5DECK RATING =
