The supplemented (old) girders are not included in the girder numbering or
element tables.
In Span 2, Girder 17 was supplemented. The supplemented (old) girders are not included in the girder numbering or element tables.
In addition, Girder 18 has been replaced with a new treated timber girder. See Photos 1 and 2.
In Span 3, Girders 6, 7, 10, 16 and 17 are supplemented. The supplemented (old) girders are not included in the girder numbering or
element tables.
The following decay was observed in the girders at the following locations:
Abutment 1:
Girders 2 - 4 and Girders 13 - 17 are crushing over Abutment 1 with up to 1 inch of penetration. See Photos 5 and 6 dated
11/10/2023 and Photo 13 dated 11/10/2022.
Girder 6 is crushing over Abutment 1 with up to 2 inches of penetration on the left side. See Photo 9 dated 11/10/2022.
Span 2:
At Girder 11, is crushing over Bent 2 up to 0.25 inches of penetration.
Abutment 4:
Girder 2 is crushing over Abutment 4 with up to 0.5 inches of penetration. In addition, moisture and a 1 inch diameter x 1 inch deep
penetration decay hole was observed. See Photo 7 dated 11/10/2023.
Girder 17 is crushing over Abutment 4 with up to 3 inches of penetration. (See Photo 8 dated 11/10/2022.) In addition, there is decay
with a penetration up to 0.5 inches at Bent 3 in the bottom of the girder in both Spans 2 and 3. See Photo 5.
These conditions have been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
Span 1:
In Girder 5, there is a check up to 4 feet long x 1 inch penetration that extends 2 feet on each side of a knot near Bent 2. There is
also white fungus present. See Photo 6.
Span 2:
330 Railing-Metal 2 32 m 32 0 0 0
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
JOINT - APPROACH - RAIL
(330) Railing-Metal
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
There were no significant defects noted.
