No signs of decay were observed.
There are shallow checks up to 0.25 inches wide in the left exterior girder.
There is a check up to 0.125 inches wide x intermittent full length in the right exterior girders. The depth of the check was measured
with a taper gauge to be up to 0.5 inches deep. (See Photo 10 dated 02/17/2021). This condition has been previously reported and no
significant changes were noted.
There is a similar condition in the left exterior girder in Span 1, except the depth of the check was measured with the taper gauge as
up to 0.75 inches deep. (See Photo 11 dated 02/17/2021). This condition has been previously reported and no significant changes
were noted.
There are checks up to 0.125 inches wide x intermittent full length in the bottoms of Girders 9, 11 and 12 in Span 2. The depth of the
checks were measured with a taper gauge to be up to 0.5 inches deep. This condition has been previously reported and no
significant changes were noted.
The exterior girders on the right side of the structure above Pier 2 exhibit multiple splits at the ends of the girders. These splits are up
to 0.25 inches wide and 6 feet long. These girders are also crushed up to 0.5 inches over Pier 2. See Photo 10 dated 02/17/2021).
This condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
JOINT - APPROACH - RAIL
(330-1900) Distortion
(330-7000) Damage
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
The left rail in Span 1 is deflected outward approximately 2 inches over 3 feet at the 4th rail post from Abutment 1. This
condition appears to be caused by vehicular damage. (See Photo 7 dated 02/07/2023). This condition has been previously
reported and no significant changes were noted.
The element has impact damage. The specific damage caused by the impact has been captured in condition state 3 under
the appropriate material defect entry.
See defect 330-1900 above.
