'27282 Lone Tree Road
San Joaquin County -2- 30 July 2013
Comments
After our review of the Work Plan, we conditionally concur with the Work Plan subject to the following
comments:
1. The Work Plan proposes to collect a minimum of three sail samples from four direct push
borings. Apex needs to collect multiple soil samples from each of the borings B-1 through B-4. At a
minimum,Apex needs to collect a sample from(1)just below the excavation depth (approximately 20
feet below ground surface, bgs); (2) near the capillary fringe(approximately 65-70 feet bgs); (3)the
portion of each boring with the highest PID reading.
2. The Work Plan proposes to collect one down-gradient groundwater sample. Apex needs to
collect a groundwater sample from the spill incident area to ensure that groundwater has not been
impacted in the incident area. Locations B-1, B-2, and B-3 from the Proposed Soil Boring Location Map
are the most preferable points from which to collect the additional groundwater sample.
Please notify us at least 72 hours prior to sample collection so that we may have the opportunity to
observe the work. Please submit a report of findings documenting the sample results by 18 October
2013. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding this letter at 916. 464.4682 or
roberto.cervantes@waterboards.ca.gov.
Roberto Cervantes, Pr-
Private Sites Cleanup Unit
