ENVIRONMENTAL <br />HFMTH nFpARTAAFNT <br />7. Unlock access gate as needed. <br />8. The Emergency Coordinator shall institute response actions as required, including <br />internal (ECS) fire fighting, facility evacuation, and equipment shut -down procedures. <br />a. Only trained personnel maybe assigned to conduct emergency services <br />b. Trained personnel may only be assigned to those activities for which they have <br />adequate response equipment and appropriate personal protective equipment. <br />9. Do not resume any production activities unless the Emergency Coordinator directs <br />you to do so. <br />10. In the event of a fire or explosion, involving or potentially involving, hazardous <br />materials and/or wastes, the Emergency Coordinators and all response personnel <br />shall be aware of the potential hazards arising from the use of hazardous chemical <br />and waste as listed in ECS' Hazardous Materials Inventory Statement (HMIS) <br />contained within ECS' Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP). The HMBP is <br />available in the EH&S office area. <br />a. ECS maintains copies of Material Safety Data Sheets for hazardous chemicals <br />present on-site within binders retained in the EH&S office area. Applicable MSDSs <br />may need to be reviewed as part of ECS' emergency response, depending upon <br />the nature of the emergency. <br />VIII. EARTHQUAKE OR OTHER UNPREDICTED DISASTER PROCEDURES <br />1. Earthquakes may occur at any time. There are no major earthquake faults near the <br />facility, so the risk is considered to be low. <br />2. The greatest immediate danger during an earthquake is posed by the possibility of <br />being struck by falling objects. <br />3. In the event of an earthquake, attempt to stay away from all equipment. Pieces of <br />equipment may collapse, fall or otherwise discharge their contents during an <br />earthquake. <br />a. Move away from elevated storage (pallet racks) <br />b. Move away from elevated equipment (baghouses, shredder, conveyors, catwalk, <br />etc). <br />
