1Q
2651 South Airport Way
M
samples at depths of approximately 30 and 35 feet bgs to laterally delineate hydrocarbon
contamination north of the former gasoline UST excavation. EHD recommends CPT -6
be located in line with H9 and H16, approximately twelve feet north of borehole H16. In
addition to collecting soil samples at 30 and 35 feet, EHD believes soil samples should be
collected at 40 feet bgs and deeper to laterally delineate COC north of the source area.
ETIC proposes to advance CPT -7 approximately thirty feet northeast of monitoring well
MW -11 and down gradient of the source area and collect only grab groundwater samples.
EHD approves the advancement for this boring and five adjacent borings for collection of
depth -discreet grab groundwater samples.
Soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons
quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes
(BTEX); methyl tertiary -butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary -butyl ether (ETBE), di -
isopropyl ether (DIPS), tertiary amyl -methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA),
and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA).
Please respond to the EHD recommendations as presented above by January 25, 2008. If
you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209)
468-9852 or by email at vmccartney(a)sicehd.com.
Historical analytical data tables do not report results for groundwater samples analyzed
for 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB). Please include prior groundwater results for EDB in
future tables.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Victoria L.
