Airport Way
Stockton, CA 95206
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
has reviewed the November 1999 Groundwater Monitoring Report dated January 7, 2000
prepared by Phillips Services Corp. for the above referenced site. Continued and
increasing concentrations of groundwater contaminants and heretofore -undetected
concentrations of Tert-Butanol are evidenced by this report. Mitigation measures and
continued quarterly groundwater monitoring of all wells at this site will be necessary.
A Work Plan to compare at least two different remediation alternatives for mitigating
contamination in the soil and groundwater at this site should be submitted to PHS/EHD
by February 25, 2000.
If a Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) and Air Sparging (AS) system is proposed, it will be
necessary to present all pertinent rationale to support this method. Pre and post treatment
plans to evaluate the effectiveness of the remediation, should be included in the Work
Plan.
Contact Carol Oz, Senior REHS at (209)468-3440 if you have questions regarding this
letter.
