0 0
ATTACHMENT 1: TECHNICAL PROPOSAL 23 May 2014
excavation bottom and placing the sample in a plastic bag. The sample will be given 10
minutes of wait time and then the PID will be inserted into the bag to read the VOC
concentration in the head space vapors. If field screen results are above 100 parts per
million by volume (ppmv), another 6" soil will be excavated, and then samples will be
collected and field screened. Once PID field screening yields results below 100 ppmv,
soil confirmation samples will be collected. If field screening results do not yield 100
ppmv after excavating an additional 6", work will be stopped and the CA ARNG will be
notified.
Costs for these samples have been provided in option 3. Samples will be sent to a CA
certified laboratory for the following analysis on a 24hr TA for:
• TPH-Jet (EPA 8015) and
• SVOCs (EPA 8270).
Additional analyses may be required if total constituent concentrations are high. ECM's
laboratory will extract two samples using the WET method and analyze each for up to
five additional metals, as necessary.
III. ASSUMPTIONS
1. ECM assumes that site access will be granted and the site will be fully accessible.
2. ECM assumes that each monitoring and sampling event can be accomplished in one
(1) mobilization over one (1) day.
Page 13
