Site Health & Safety Plan UST Removal and Replacement
574 West Grantline Road
Tracy, CA
11.0 Emergency Procedures
Directions for the emergency route to the medical center as well as
emergency telephone numbers are included in figure 1. This figure will be
posted near the site telephone and in site vehicles which may be used to
transport injured personnel.
Whenever possible, injured personnel will be decontaminated and/or
moved to the support area for treatment as long as these procedures do not
further compromise the health or safety of the individual.
Potential site emergencies are expected to be the possibility of fires and
injuries to personnel. These are conditions which may need the assistance of
off site emergency response teams. Where additional resources are needed,
they will be summoned by the Site Health and Safety Officer. During any
emergency, work activities will cease until the emergency is brought under
control.
12.0 Training
All on-site personnel working in the Exclusion Zone will have the
appropriate prior training and experience in compliance with 8 CCR 5192.
Such training includes the 40 hour basic HAZWOPER training, three days of
supervised field training, 8 hours of annual refresher training, an 8 hours of
supervisory training as appropriate.
Tailgate safety meetings will be held on site before work begins to reinforce
pertinent topics from this training, to anticipate problems that may arise
during the operation, to apprise personnel of any changes to this plan and
any other topics at the discretion of the Site Health and Safety Officer. These
meetings will be documented as part of the site documentation.
Prepared By: December 18, 1998
Environmental & Safety Resources Page 11
(510) 536-6444
