To ensure that these red cans are properly labeled, <br /> the Weekly Satellite Accumulation Area Inspection Log (Fig. 3)will be used. <br /> 27. A 55 gallon drum of potassium cyanide was observed open,with additional waste <br /> placed in a black plastic bag on top of the drum. <br /> To clarify, it was a 30 gallon drum of potassium cyanide contaminated debris and not a <br /> liquid, that was hauled offsite on July 26, 2011 on Manifest No. 000037722DAT, Line <br /> item 3 (Fig. 2). The black plastic bag of potassium cyanide contaminated debris was <br /> compacted into the 30 gallon drum and the drum was closed, stored in the hazardous <br /> waste storage area before being hauled offsite. To prevent this, weekly inspections will <br /> be conducted using the Weekly Satellite Accumulation Area Inspection Log(Fig. 3). <br /> A metal can of machine oil drippings was observed without a lid in the Machine <br /> Shop. <br /> See No. 20 above. <br /> A 55 gallon drum of solvent wipes was observed unlatched in the Paint Booth room. <br /> The solvent wipe drum was latched during the inspection. Weekly inspections will be <br /> conducted using the Weekly Satellite Accumulation Area Inspection Log (Fig. 3). <br /> Employees will receive hazardous waste management training on August 17, 2011. <br /> Two white 5 gallon buckets of primer waste and a container of chromium <br /> contaminated mop water were observed without lids in the Prime Line room. <br /> The two 5 gallon buckets of primer waste are addressed in No. 20. The mop bucket <br /> containing chromium contaminated mop water does not have a cover. The mop bucket <br /> will be labeled hazardous waste and will be emptied daily. <br /> A 55 gallon drum of liquid waste paint related material was observed open in the <br /> Prime Line room. <br /> The funnel used to pour the waste paint related material did not have a cover. The <br /> existing funnel was replaced with a new one with a cover in the presence of the <br /> inspectors on July 11, 2011. <br /> AASC Response to 7-11-11 Inspection Page 7 <br />
