• 0 <br />Sims Metal Management Emergency Response June 2010 <br />11.1.4 Flood <br />11.1.4.1 Immediately seek high ground or move out of the flood plain if <br />possible in the event of a flash flood. DO NOT drive through <br />deep water or water that is too dark or deep to see the road <br />surface. <br />11.1.4.2 Proceed to the rally point established during the tailgate safety <br />meeting as soon as possible following the flood, or contact the <br />Emergency Coordinator by any means necessary so an <br />accurate head count can be made. If necessary, contact the <br />Sires Metal Management NW office if infrastructure has been <br />compromised to the point that other communications channels <br />are closed. <br />11.1.4.3 In the event of a large-scale flood, follow the lead of local <br />authorities in regards to movement on roads, evacuation routes, <br />and so forth. <br />11.1.5 Hurricanes 1 Blizzards <br />11.1.5.1 In the event of a large-scale storm such as a hurricane or <br />blizzard, attempt to evacuate Sims Metal Management NW <br />personnel and equipment from the danger area if possible. <br />11.1.5.2 If local authorities call for evacuation, DO NOT attempt to shelter <br />in place. Withdraw and return to the site after the storm <br />condition has resolved. <br />11. 1.6 Other <br />11.1.6.1 In the event of any other natural disaster not listed, follow the <br />lead of local authorities. <br />11.1.6.2 If evacuation is called for by local authorities, attempt to <br />assemble Sims Metal Management NW equipment and <br />personnel with all due haste and follow evacuation instructions <br />from local authorities. <br />11.1.6.3 In the event of a rapidly developing natural disaster, DO NOT <br />waste time attempting to save equipment or resources, withdraw <br />immediately and seek safety. <br />11.2 Off Duty 1 Return to Duty <br />11.2.1 The following items shall be inspected 1 checked following a return to duty <br />after any natural disaster. <br />11.2.2 Inspect all tanks and containment for leakage or damage. <br />12 <br />
