This waste stream had been categorized as CWC 134 in the past. The
waste stream is generated primarily in two research buildings, building 2, 70A, and 67 where
wastewaters from multiple sinks in different laboratories are collected in one retention tank at
each building.
The wastewater is subsequently neutrali
zed and used as makeup water in a cooling tower.
The treatment consists of a neutralization process, which is authorized by Califoriva Tiered
Permitting program under Conditional Authorization.
Because this single waste str
eam is so large, it has been exclude when calculating LBNL
Category B wastes so as not to dwarf othex waste screams of significance.
SOURCE REDUCTIONIPOLLUTION PREVENTION EVALUATION
Descxiption of Measure:
r
LBNL modifi
ed the waste water dischar e s stem to route the wastewaters as
September 1, 2015 SB14 Plan
