Operations
and work continue to rise, while waste generation continues to decrease. No additional
source reduction efforts were implemented in 2014.
For LBNL
10.2 Life Science and Material Science Laboratories
The chemicals and chemical solutions are primarily used by the Life Sciences and
Material Sciences Divisions to prepare research samples and conduct experiments.
Chemicals are purchased in small amounts and stored in the individual laboratories.
The significant increase is due to the expansion of research using these chemicals. The
Lab purchases chemicals in smallq uantities and reallocates chemicals to other
researchers as needed. No other source reduction measures were envisioned in 2010.
September 1, 2015 SB 14 Report III -15
