was stationed just outside the building entrance. The inspectors also observed an inspection log demonstrating weekly inspections of containers in the building. The inspectors did not observe any potential RCRA violations at Building 816. Magazine All of the magazines in the HWSF are located in close walking proximity to each other. Magazine 2 is a corrugated metal structure approximately 300 square feet in area. The current HWFP allows slightly over 3,200 pounds of explosive or reactive waste (D003) to be stored in this building. Inside the building, the inspectors observed 4 plastic containers (see photograph to the left) with accumulation start dates of no longer than 271 days (or 9 months) prior to the day of the inspection (the oldest of the containers was dated 3/17/10). The containers were all marked as containing explosive material (machine fines), were labeled as reactive and toxic, and noted whether the contents were liquid or solid. According to the facility representatives, the explosive waste is wrapped in paper and placed in a cardboard box which again is wrapped in paper before being placed inside of the plastic containers. The contents of these containers will eventually be taken for treatment in one of the units of the HWTF. Process Area — Buildinp- 805 The inspectors observed one satellite accumulation area (SAA) within Building 805 which houses a small machine shop for processing mainly aluminum and steel. The SAA consisted of one plastic bucket which contained metal machine fines (see photograph to the right). The container was properly closed, labeled, and the accumulation start date of 3/24/10 was clearly marked. No potential violations were observed inside Building 805. Z
