the 2nd box, marked the accumulation start date, covered the battery terminals with
electrical tape, and relocated the battery to the I" box during the inspection.
In the yard area Outside Building 875 the inspectors observed 2 metal cabinets located on
either side of the door directly outside the flammable liquids storage shed. Inside one
locker the inspectors noted multiple containers, some of which contained product and
some of which contained waste (see photograph to the
right). There were 2 open undated containers which
were labeled only as "compressor condensate" with
small amounts of liquid waste inside. According to
facility representatives the containers were recently
emptied and the waste remaining was liquid residue.
The representatives also stated that they thought the
waste was non -hazardous. Upon review of Site 300's
2009 Biennial Report compressor condensate water is
being managed as a California -only hazardous waste
(waste codes 132 and 151).
Subsequent to the inspection Site 300 submitted
photographic evidence that the locker had been
cleaned out and the containers used to transfer liquid
waste, such as compressor condensate wastewater,
were emptied and properly disposed.
6. Building 883 —Container Storage Area (CSA)
The hazardous waste storage area is in Building 883. The building consists of a concrete
pad approximately 1,700 square feet in area. The pad is surrounded by a six-inch berm
and a locked slat fence and covered by a galvanized tin roof. Site 300 is permitted to
store up to 5,500 gallons or one hundred 55 -gallon containers of hazardous waste in this
area. The waste accumulation area is divided into a 90 -day storage area and a permitted
1 -year storage area.
D.
