• Providing employee training on the elements of the written hazard <br /> communication program. <br /> 2. Determine the nature and frequency of employee training and retraining. <br /> 3. Ensure that members know all chemical hazards at the store. <br /> 4. Identify examples of hazardous non-routine tasks such as: <br /> • Confined space entry, which will be handled in accordance with <br /> 29CFR1910.146; <br /> • Lock-out/Tag-out, which will be handled in accordance with <br /> 29CFR1910.147; <br /> • Cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of equipment which contains <br /> hazardous materials; <br /> • identifying and isolating leaks of hazardous materials that are of such a <br /> small quantity that they do not require initiation of an urgency response <br /> sequence. <br /> B. Shop Supervisors <br /> 1. Ensure all work is conducted according to the restrictions, precautions, and <br /> guidelines in the material safety data sheets and this HazCom program. <br /> 2. Notify Manager or Safety Supervisor if a process in which their respective <br /> work groups are involved is creating a excessive odors, dusts, or mists. The <br /> Safety Supervisor or designee will determine if a hazard evaluation is warranted. <br /> 3. Ensure all secondary containers are properly labeled. <br /> C. Safety Committee <br /> 1. Ensure, by periodic audits, that the labels and other forms of warning used <br /> are appropriate and comply with standard. <br /> 2. Audit the MSDS binders annually to ensure that all MSDSs in the index are in <br /> the binders. Document the audits in the MSDS binders. <br /> 3. Ensure coordination of all information necessary to treat an employee in both <br /> emergency and non-emergency situations. <br /> 4. Provide information for Supervisors to support members on issues that <br /> pertain to hazard communication. <br /> 5. Maintain MSDS binders and ensure that current MSDS's are available for all <br /> material used in members' respective workplaces. <br /> 6.
