✓' Fire Department - 91* 0 <br /> ✓ <br /> EmeEgency EmergencyResponse Coordinator I Liaison —The emergency response <br /> coordinator/liaison will make other required notifications and reports such as OES, <br /> NRC, County Health, etc. using procedures in the J.R. Simplot Environmental <br /> Operating Procedures Binder. <br /> 17.8 In the event that the news media should respond to any incident, the following <br /> guidelines should be followed.- <br /> 17.8.1 <br /> ollowed:17.8.1 No employee should share information with the media without the <br /> authorization of the Public Relations Manager or the Plant'Manager. <br /> 17.8.2 Ensure that management is aware of the situation. A department manager or <br /> higher up should be notified. <br /> 17.8.3 Under no circumstances must the media be allowed to interfere with <br /> response to the emergency. If so, notify the Police Department or the Fire <br /> Department Incident Commander. <br /> 17.8.4 If necessary, arrange a staging area for the media away from the immediate <br /> emergency, inform the media someone will be with them shortly to answer <br /> their questions. The Public Relations Manager should be made available in <br /> this area. <br /> 18.0 DESCRIPTION OF ALARM/COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS <br /> The purpose of this section is to generally describe the alarm and communication <br /> systems which are implemented for emergency response. <br /> 18.1 The fire alarm system can be describes as follows: <br /> 18.1.1 The fire alarm system is activated automatically via water flow through the fire <br /> loop/sprinkler system. Components consist of bells at each riser and pump <br /> house operation alarms at the acid plant control room and scalehouse. <br /> 18.1.2 The fire alarm system for the plant areas can be activated manually at the <br /> scalehouse or Substation #4 which activates the air horn system. <br /> 18.1.3 An audio message warning system in administrative offices can be activated <br /> manually at the scale house. <br /> 18.1.4 The fire alarm system at the blend plant will notify the weighmaster via an <br /> automated telephone message relayed to the scalehouse <br /> ERT Contingency Plan Page 21 06/24/99 <br />
