TD <br /> Son joaqoin Regional Transit of-strict <br /> addition to its impact on the health and safety of the SJRTD's employees <br /> and staff. <br /> • Major Category B Waste: Aqueous Parts Washer: Source reduction <br /> strategies/measures for the aqueous parts washer, located inside the <br /> maintenance facility: The following source reduction/minimization <br /> strategies will be pursued and implemented by the SJRTD's WM team in <br /> order to minimize the generation of aqueous parts washer fluid at the <br /> SJRTD's maintenance facility. <br /> Administrative controls: The SJRTD's WM team has already <br /> begun a multi-media/one-stop environmental compliance education <br /> and empowerment-training program for its employees. During <br /> these educational workshops, the importance and criticality of using <br /> less aqueous parts washer shall be stressed. <br /> Input changes and materials substitution: The SJRTD's WM <br /> team shall begin researching and looking for vendors and raw <br /> materials that will either result in generating a non-hazardous waste <br /> or less hazardous waste. It should, however, be noted that this <br /> waste reduction strategy shall be predicated on functional feasibility <br /> /economic feasibility of such material substitutions.TWhereby, if <br /> using non-hazardous/less hazardous aqueous parts washers <br /> would double the amount of labor to clean the same part, then <br /> this strategy shall not be used and deemed rejected. <br /> Process optimization, production process changes: The <br /> SJRTD's team shall evaluate the economic feasibility, regulatory <br /> compliance/permitting burden, energy cost, ©&M cost, and <br /> technological possibility of new and emerging solvent reclamation <br /> 33 <br />
