b. PERSONAL INJURY (Major) <br /> (1) Apply first aid necessary to stop bleeding or to <br /> sustain breathing and heartbeat. <br /> (2) Call the Client Emergency Coordinator to direct <br /> emergency medical transportation. Never transport <br /> or let the victim drive himself. <br /> (3) Notify Operations Supervisor and Health and Safety <br /> after caring for injured. As with a minor injury, <br /> an accident report form must be submitted to Risk <br /> Management Department, within 72 hours. <br /> C. CHEMICAL EXPOSURE <br /> (1) Remove victim from dangerous area <br /> (2) Remove contaminated clothing and decontaminate <br /> victim using an emergency shower or water hose. <br /> Wrap the victim in a blanket. <br /> (3) Call for Client Emergency Coordinator to .direct <br /> emergency medical attention and/or transport the <br /> victim to a medical facility. <br /> (4) Notify Operations Supervisor and the Risk <br /> Management Department. <br /> (5) Submit an accident report to the Risk Management <br /> Department within 72 hours. <br /> 5. EQUIPMENT DAMAGE <br /> a. Notify Erickson Operations management. Do not attempt to <br /> fix the damaged equipment unless instructed to by <br /> Operations. <br /> b. Turn off main power. <br /> C. Close feed and discharge valves to equipment. Turn off <br /> pumps and any other equipment in use. <br /> d. An equipment damage report will need to be filled out by <br /> the person involved when the damage was noted or <br /> occurred. If the equipment was faulty, corrective <br /> measures will be taken for its repair. <br /> e. Inspect equipment and review the inspection with <br /> Operations management before starting equipment again. <br /> 6. NATURAL DISASTERS <br /> The following items shall be checked after any natural <br /> disaster (flood, earthquake, storm, etc. ) . <br /> a. Shut down all operations/equipment in a safe effective <br /> manner. <br />
