Facility has hazardous waste drums of coolant and <br /> contaminated absorbent. Facility has a tank for used oil. Lead Mechanic David Blanco states that the containers of <br /> hazardous waste are checked monthly. Hazardous waste container storage and transfer areas shall be inspected <br /> weekly for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused by corrosion and <br /> other factors. Immediately begin conducting the necessary weekly inspections for all hazardous waste containers at <br /> this facility. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7(f)Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> Along the north fence of the facility are two black 55 gallon drums that used to contain coolant and a red 55 gallon <br /> drum that used to contain oil. These empty drums have not been marked with the date they became empty. <br /> Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were <br /> emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this <br /> section. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored <br /> on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. At this facility are two 55 drums of hazardous waste <br /> coolant, a 55 gallon drum of hazardous waste contaminated absorbent, and a tank of hazardous waste used oil. The <br /> accumulation start date has not been marked. Since it cannot be determined how long the hazardous waste has been <br /> on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest.
