Unified RECEIVE
Distribution Center - Sic grp01
Bomb Threat Procedures
W,
Bomb Threat ENVIRONMENTAL H l
ULVA
Anyone can receive a bomb threat. KEEP CALM if you do receive one.
Persons making such calls normally do not call anyone in particular, but will deliver their
messages to the first person contacted. Consequently, it is important that a call of this
nature be handled in accordance with an established plan.
Immediate Action
1. Any employee receiving such a call should try to obtain as much
information as possible.
2. The caller should be kept on the line as long as possible to facilitate the
tracing action and to aid in later identification of voice characteristics.
3. Listen and DO NOT interrupt.
4. Once a threat is received and as soon as it is possible, the employee
receiving the threat should contact their supervisor and Loss Prevention to
begin Bomb Threat Procedures.
5. As soon as key personnel are contacted, the employee should notify the
police department by dialing 9-1-1.
Do not touch any unfamiliar package, but identify them and their location for
responding police personnel. Remember, you are more familiar with what does or
does not belong in your area, so make mental notes. Do not transmit on a radio,
or cell phone. Turn off pagers and cell phones. Signal transmissions can detonate
some bombs.
01-14-13
rH
