0 0 <br />REPORTING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS <br />Whenever hazardous waste is being poured, mixed, spread, or otherwise handled, all <br />personnel involved in the operation shall have immediate access to an internal alarm or <br />emergency communication device, either directly or through visual or voice contact with <br />another employee. <br />If there is ever just one employee on the premises while the facility is operating, the <br />employee shall have immediate access to a device, such as a telephone (immediately <br />available at the scene of operation) or a hand-held two-way radio, capable of <br />summoning external emergency assistance. <br />1. Notify an emergency coordinator. <br />2. State the location and nature of the emergency and what type of assistance is <br />needed. <br />3. If emergency warrants evacuation of the building, an emergency coordinator will <br />make an announcement to that effect over the building PA system and <br />evacuation procedures shall be followed by all personnel. <br />4. An emergency coordinator will dial "911" to secure assistance from trained <br />emergency personnel. <br />5. If, for any reason, you are unable to contact an emergency coordinator on duty, <br />make an evacuation announcement over the PA system if necessary.
