ASPIiALTTC CONCRETE: This work shall consist of furnishing and mixing <br /> aggregate an asp alt binder at a central mixing plant, and spreading <br /> and compacting the mixture. <br /> 2-07.1 Materials: <br /> 2-07.1 .1 Asphalt: AR4000. 5% to 7 .57- <br /> 2-07.1.2 Aggregate: Type B, 3/4 inch max. <br /> 2-07.1 .3 Primer: MC70 or SS-1 . <br /> 2-07.2 Weather Limitations: Bituminous course shall be constructed <br /> only when base course and existing pavement is dry and when <br /> weather is not rainy. Bituminous course shall not be <br /> constructed when temperature of the surface of existing pavement <br /> or base course is below 40° F. <br /> 2-07.3 Treatment of Underlying Surface: Prior to laying a bituminous <br /> course, the underlying surface shall be cleaned of loose and <br /> foreign matter. The surface to be paved shall receive a prime <br /> coat. <br /> 2-07.4 Mix' Temperature of asphalt at time of mixing shall not <br /> exceed 325- F. Temperature of aggregate and mineral filler in " <br /> the mixer shall not exceed 325° F. when asphalt is added. <br /> 2-07.5 CompactLon shall consist of a minimum of 3 passes with a <br /> rvib atory steel wheel roller. In areas not accessable to the <br /> roller, the mixture shall be compacted with hand tampers. The <br /> compacted surface shall be smooth and free from irregularities. <br /> Depth of any lift prior to rolling shall not exceed the maximum <br /> depth the roller is capable of compacting. <br /> 2-07.6 Protection of Pavement: No vehicular traffic shall be permitted <br /> on the pavement Err at least 6 hours after final rolling. <br /> 2-08. CONCRETE: Concrete shall be poured in place without reinforcement. <br /> Proportioning of concrete mixes to meet the requirements specified below <br /> shall be the Contractor's responsibility. <br /> 2-03 <br />
