The organic vapor and <br />benzene threshold values level C are one-sixth and one-half of the PEL for diesel and <br />benzene, respectively. <br />3.7.2 Respiratory Protection <br />This program is required in all locations where respirator protective equipment will or may be <br />used. As part of the respiratory training program, each employee is instructed in the <br />following elements: <br />• Nature of the respiratory hazard on the work site and the appraisal of potential <br />consequences if the respiratory protection is not utilized. <br />• Use and proper fitting of the respirator. <br />• Cleaning, disinfecting, inspection, maintenance, and storage of the respirator. <br />• Proper selection, capabilities, and their limitations. <br />Routinely used respiratory equipment will be inspected, cleaned, and disinfected daily to help <br />assure proper hygienic practices. An inspection of these breathing devices will include the <br />following: <br />• Examination of the head straps for breaks, loss of elasticity, broken or <br />malfunctioning buckles, and other attachments. <br />• Examination of the face piece for excessive dirt, cracks, tears, distortion, holes, <br />or inflexibility. <br />MW07-07-92/EES/ENGn054r 3-9 <br />
