RESNA SITE SAFETY PLAN <br />Other Hazards (Check if applicable) <br />❑ Noise Activities likely to generate noise exceeding 85 dB: <br />Wear hearing protection during these activities. <br />® Heat Stress Symptoms: <br />✓ Heat Cramps: Muscular pains and spasms. <br />✓ Heat Exhaustion: Cool, pale, moist skin; heavy sweating; dilated <br />pupils, headache, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, <br />near normal body temperature. <br />✓ Heat Stroke: Hot, red skin; very small pupils; high body <br />temperature; reduced sweating. <br />Mitigation: Cool place for breaks: Lunch room. <br />Take frequent breaks in shaded area. Unzip or remove PPE during breaks. Provide drinking <br />water and/or electrolyte replacement drink. Record the time and duration of all breaks. Heat <br />stroke victims must receive emergency medical care. <br />❑ Hypothermia/Frostbite Symptoms: <br />✓ Hypothermia <br />✓ Frostbite: <br />Shivering, apathy, loss of consciousness, <br />decreasing pulse and breathing rate. <br />White, then grayish yellow progressing to <br />grayish blue skin, cold, numb part. <br />Mitigation: Wear multilayer cold weather outfits covered by a wind resistant fabric. Take <br />frequent breaks in a warm, sheltered area. Provide warm non-alcoholic drinks. For frostbite <br />victims warm injured part gradually, do not rub! Warm hypothermia victims and transport to <br />emergency medical care. <br />❑ Underground/Overhead Utilities (show location of utilities on site map) <br />✓ How were underground utilities identified?
