Mr. Herald dispatched contractor Tyree
Organization to the site to investigate the condition, and is currently awaiting their findings,
proposed solution, scope of work, and timeline to correct. Mr. Herald will be in direct contact
with you to summarize this issue.
Category 8 (Automatic Line Leak Detector)
You mentioned that the mechanical line leak detector (MLLD) failed its test on the day that you
performed your inspection. As you are probably aware, Tanknology replaced the device that
same day, and the new device passed the test. Documentation related to that test is attached.
I trust that this update is satisfactory. We will provide you with additional information as it
becomes available. In the interim, please feel free to contact me at your convenience, should
anything be unclear or unsatisfactory. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Tanknology-NDE
Bern Steiner
Program Mgr. — Ryder
Voice: 305-500-4134
Fax: 305-500-3018
E-mail:bsteiner@tanknology.com
cc: M.
