6.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> 6.1 HEALTH AND SAFETY CLEARANCE <br /> WC employees as well as subcontractor employees assigned to perform field activities <br /> covered by this HSP must be currently approved for hazardous waste field work, including: <br /> • Current medical clearance to conduct hazardous waste field work and to wear a <br /> respirator, <br /> • Successful completion of a respirator fit test within the last 12 months for the make <br /> and model of the respirator assigned to that individual for use at that site, <br /> • 40 hours of hazardous waste worker basic instruction, <br /> • 8 hours of hazardous waste worker refresher training annually after completion of the <br /> 40 hour basic training, and <br /> • At least 3 days of supervised work at hazardous waste sites. <br /> The WC SSO will have the following additional training: <br /> • 8 hours of specialized training on managing hazardous waste operations <br /> • current first aid and CPR certification. <br /> 6.2 ACCIDENT/INCIDENT REPORTING <br /> In the event of an accident or incident, the SSO will immediately notify the WC PM, <br /> HSO/HSC and CMHS.
