• Evaluate the extent of injuries <br /> • Summon emergency help as deemed necessary by the SSO or <br /> the SSO's designee <br /> • Modify decontamination procedures as appropriate considering <br /> the actual levels of contaminants on the person (if any) and <br /> types of severities of injuries <br /> • Apply fust aid <br /> If minor injuries occur, decontaminate and transport the individual to the Ambulatory Health <br /> Clinic. Emergency life saving techniques will be performed prior to decontamination. <br /> Medical attention must be sought regardless of how minor the injuries appear to be. <br /> 8.4.2 Injury Due to Chemical Exposure <br /> If it is suspected that a person has suffered from chemical exposure, the following <br /> procedures will be undertaken: <br /> Skin Contact - Flush with water. Remove clothing, if necessary. Wash/rinse <br /> affected area for at least 15 minutes. Decontaminate exposed <br /> skin areas with a mild detergent or soap and provide <br /> appropriate medical attention. <br /> Inhalation - Move person away from area; administer CPR as needed. <br /> Decontaminate, transport to hospital for medical attention <br /> Ingestion - Decontaminate, transport to hospital for medical attention <br /> Eye Contact - Irrigate with water for at least 15 minutes.
