STOCKTON AST UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK <br /> _ REMOVAL CLOSURE REPORT <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 BACKGROUND <br /> The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is in the process of programmatically replacing <br /> underground fuel storage tanks (USTs) with aboveground fuel storage tanks (ASTs). As <br /> part of this program, Research Management Consultants, Inc. (RMCI) has been tasked to <br /> oversee the removal of an UST at the Stockton Metropolitan Airport, Stockton, California <br /> (Exhibit 1). <br /> The Stockton ASR UST was located immediately adjacent to the Emergency Generator <br /> building for the Stockton Metropolitan Airport ASR (Exhibit 2). <br /> 1.2 SCOPE <br /> RMCI has been tasked by the FAA under Task Order 4 of Contract DTFA08-93-Y-02833 to <br /> oversee the removal of a 1000-gallon capacity diesel underground storage tank as part of <br /> a programmatic replacement of USTs with ASTs and to collect soil samples, arrange for the <br /> _ analyses, and present the findings of these analyses as required by the County of San <br /> Joaquin.
