•
BANKS&CO.
PRESSURE TESTING OF THE PIPING
After the pipe glue has cured, the piping will be pressured
tested using nitrogen. Since the piping has already been used
to carry petroleum products, compressed air will NOT be
allowed for pressure testing. The piping will be required to
be tested at 15o% of working pressure or 75 psi maximum. The
piping will be sprayed with a mixture of soap and water to
check for any leaks in the new piping. Since the existing
piping and holding pressure and the piping containment sumps
are dry of any petroleum products, it is assumed that the
piping is holding.
The secondary piping will be pressure tested and checked for
leaks in the same fashion that the primary piping was . The
pressure that will be used on the secondary piping will be 5
psi only.
BACKFILL AND COMPACTION
After the piping has passed the inspections, the excavated
areas will be backfilled with pea gravel and the pea gravel
compacted around the piping. The backfill of the trenches
will stop at approximately 6" under grade to allow for the
thickness of the concrete.
CONCRETE
After the backfill is complete the steel island form will be
put into place . The concrete will be placed into place and
finished to match the existing concrete .
INSTALLATION OF THE DISPENSERS
The proposed multi-product dispensers will be placed on the
island after the concrete has hardened sufficiently. The
dispensers will be lifted with a forklift or other piece of
equipment that has the appropriate lifting capacity. Care
must be exercised to keep the dispensers from crushing
anything while they are being set . The dispensers are to be
connected to the product piping, vapor recovery piping and
electrical conduits . The dispensers will be anchored to the
Bravo under-dispenser containment pans with the provided bolt
holes . The electrical wiring will be connected as required.
Appropriate PPE shall be worn by the workers.
INSTALLATION OF THE CONSOLE
11 SITE SAFETY PLAN
