The following fieldwork will be performed to support the scope items identified above:
Utility Clearance. Contractors will mark the areas to be excavated and will contact Underground Service Alert (USA) to
identify underground utilities within the marked areas. Final excavation locations (if necessary) will be determined after the
utility clearance survey is completed. Contractors will pothole utilities that cross the trench alignments to confirm their
location and depth prior to excavation.
Trenching. AGE will perform trenching (limited excavation) using a conventional rubber-tire backhoe. Normal trenching
operations will be performed and will be monitored by the project Site Safety Officer. Suspect earthen materials generated
from excavation operations will be managed as indicated herein.
Dust Abatement. Rough grading and other earthmoving operations, including hauling, have the potential to generate dust.
Best Management Practices(BMPs)will be used to reduce dust.
Health and Safety Monitoring and Air Monitoring. AGE will perform health and safety monitoring and air monitoring on an
as-needed basis during grading and trenching activities performed by the contractors. Air monitoring will be performed as
described in Section 6.1.All field readings will be recorded on a field log sheet.
Construction Debris/Non-hazardous Waste Management. Construction-related debris will be accumulated in a designated
non-hazardous waste accumulation area. Construction-related debris will be removed from the site, and BMPs will be
implement to manage the wastes stored in the non-hazardous waste accumulation area.
Sect Earthen Material and Landfill Waste Management. Suspect earthen materials and landfill wastes, if encountered, will
be stockpiled and covered pending any waste profiling before further action is taken.
Page 13
