• Implementing changes as directed by the AGEH&S PM and in approved HASP addenda. <br /> 3.4 SITE SAFETY OFFICER(Nuel Henderson Jr.,RG) <br /> The Site Safety Officer(SSO)manages the safety aspects of on-site activities at the Site covered by this HASP.The SSO also <br /> serves as the coordinator for on-site safety, and will assist the Site Superintendent and the Site Foreman in the field <br /> implementation of this HASP.The responsibilities of the SSO also include: <br /> Maintaining a copy of this HASP and any subsequent revisions at the work site, <br /> • Coordinating with the Site Superintendent to ensure that proper personal protective equipment is available, <br /> used properly,and cleaned/stored appropriately when not in use, <br /> • Maintaining documentation of health and safety related activities such as air monitoring, safety briefings, <br /> etc.as required in this HASP, <br /> Performing site inspections to find hazards and observe employees at work, <br /> • Performing air monitoring at scheduled intervals as defined in the HASP, <br /> • Stopping work when necessary to prevent injury or illness and ensure personal and environmental health <br /> and safety, <br /> • Investigating all injuries and illnesses, <br /> Determining evacuation routes,establishing and posting local emergency telephone numbers,and arranging <br /> emergency transportation, <br /> Developing and implementing corrective action plans to eliminate or mitigate hazards, <br /> Presenting field safety meetings and maintaining attendance logs and records, <br /> • Implementing the respiratory protection program, <br /> Maintaining decontamination procedures which meet established criteria,and <br /> • Ensuring that all subcontractor personnel assigned to this project have received appropriate training in the <br /> hazards associated with the job(as detailed in this HASP). <br /> Air monitoring will only be performed by the SSO. <br /> 3.5 SUBCONTRACTORS <br /> Subcontractors are responsible for assigning specific work tasks to their employees, and for ensuring that their personnel are <br /> properly trained and participate in health and safety programs, which fulfill the requirements, specified in this HASP (e.g., <br /> hearing conservation, respiratory protection, etc.). Each subcontractor's management will provide qualified employees and <br /> allocate sufficient time, materials and equipment to safely complete assigned tasks. In particular, each subcontractor is <br /> responsible for equipping its personnel assigned to this Project with all required personal protective equipment. <br /> AGE considers each subcontractor to be an expert in all aspects of the work operations for which they are tasked to provide, <br /> and each subcontractor is responsible for compliance with those regulatory requirements, which pertain to the services <br /> provided Each subcontractor is expected to perform its operations in accordance with its own unique safety policies and <br /> procedures, to ensure that hazards associated with the performance of the work activities are properly controlled. Copies of <br /> safety documentation for the subcontractor's work activities will be provided to AGE for review prior to the start of on-site <br /> activities.
