6. One 55-gallon drum in the hazardous waste storage area was <br /> 1 <br /> not in good condition and leaking hazardous waste. This is <br /> 2 <br /> a violation of Section 66265. 171, Article 9, Chapter 15, <br /> 3 <br /> Title 22, CCR / Health and Safety Code Section 25189. 5 (d) . <br /> 4 <br /> 7 . Numerous 5-gallon buckets, 30-gallon barrels, and various <br /> 5 <br /> plastic containers used to hold hazardous waste were not <br /> 6 <br /> closed. This is a violation of Section 66265. 173 (a) , <br /> 7 <br /> Article 9. Chapter 15, Title 22 , CCR / Health and Safety <br /> 8 <br /> Code Section 25189 . 5 (d) . <br /> s <br /> B. Numerous containers holding hazardous waste were stored in <br /> 10 <br /> a manner which may cause the waste to leak or spill. At <br /> 11 <br /> the time of the August 18 , 1993 inspection, workers were <br /> 12 <br /> found mopping up a recent spill in the plating room in <br /> 13 <br /> violation of Section 66265. 173 (b) , Article 9, Chapter 15, <br /> 14 <br /> Title 22 , CCR. Later the mop bucket was tested and found <br /> 15 <br /> to have a pH of 1, again meeting the regulatory <br /> 16 <br /> requirements for violating Health and Safety Code Section <br /> 17 <br /> 25189 . 5 . <br /> 18 <br /> 9 . The operator could not demonstrate that any of the <br /> 19 <br /> containers holding hazardous waste were inspected for <br /> 20 <br /> deterioration. This is a violation of Section 66265. 174 , <br /> 21 <br /> Article 9 , Chapter 15, Title 22 , CCR / Health and Safety <br /> 22 <br /> Code Section 25189 . 5 (d) . <br /> 23 <br /> 10. The facility is not maintained and operated in a manner <br /> 24 <br /> which would minimize the possibility of and unplanned <br /> 25 <br /> sudden or non-sudden releases of hazardous waste or <br /> 26 <br /> hazardous waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water <br /> 27 <br /> which could threaten human health or the environment. This <br /> 28 <br /> 6 <br /> /Z <br />
