Denny Bryant -2- 13 July 2011
Before Regional Board staff can recommend recession of Order 96-117, Carpenter Company
must submit documentation with photographs (before and after) showing that the pond has
been cleared of vegetation and that all gross sludge has been removed and disposed of
off-site. Additionally, please provide the name of the company that has been retained to wash
vehicles on-site.
Once we receive the required documentation, staff can recommend that Order 96-117 be
rescinded. At that point, any discharge of vehicle wash water or other wastewater to the pond
will be a violation of the California Water Code and may subject Carpenter Company to
enforcement actions.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 464-4635.
BRENDAN KENNY
Compliance and Enforcement Section
Enclosure: Waste Discharge Requirements Order 96-117
cc: Anne Olson, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, Rancho Cordova
Rodney Estrada, San Joaquin Environmental Health Department, Stockton
