These containers were noted adjacent to the Truck Shop building: <br /> 1) Five metal black and blue colored 55-gallon containers (labeled as "empty" without the date they were emptied) <br /> 2) One empty metal reinforced plastic tote had a hazardous waste label <br /> 3) Two yellow metal 55-gallon containers had no labels <br /> 4) One metal 55-gallon container had no label. <br /> Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were <br /> emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this <br /> section. Submit proof of correction to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 408 CCR 66262.34(e)(1)(A) Satellite accumulation container not located near point of generation or under control of <br /> operator. <br /> Several 55-gallon containers of"propylene glycol" and "toluene diisocyante" located in th satellite accumulation area <br /> for foam pouring process (head waste satellite area)were not stored at or near the point of generation; this satellite <br /> area and its point of generation are approximately 70 feet apart, also this satellite area is not in the line of sight from <br /> where waste is being generated (some equipment and ondoor structures are in the way). To claim satellite <br /> accumulation for this waste, it shall be stored in a container at or near the point of generation and is under the control <br /> of the operator of the process generating the waste. Immediately relocate this waste so that it is at or near the point <br /> of generation and is under the control of the operator of the process generating the waste, or to the hazardous waste <br /> storage area. Submit proof of correction to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 604 CCR 66262.34(e)(3) Failed to mark satellite containers with date filled within three days. <br /> Several containers, located in the main hazardous waste storage area, were not marked with the date they were filled. <br /> Within three days of accumulating 55 gallons of hazardous waste or one quart of acutely or extremely hazardous <br /> waste, the container shall be marked with the date it was filled and moved to the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> Immediately mark the date the container was filled and move it to the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Page 9 of 10 <br />
