UPGRADING WASTE STORAGE AREA <br /> INDY Is in the process of reviewing its waste storage area with the <br /> idea of eliminating the underground waste recovery tank and to <br /> eventually remove the tank . <br /> In addition, INDY is in the process of reviewing a plan to upgrade its <br /> hazardous waste storage area . INDY is anticipating that within 6 <br /> months the waste storage area will be upgraded with proper segregation <br /> and containment . <br /> 4 . TRAINING <br /> INDY provides Manufacturing Training Classes . All new employees <br /> assigned to Manufacturing are indoctrinated in the safe handling and <br /> storage of chemicals . This is done in classroom and/or on the job <br /> training with a qualified person in attendance . Training is also <br /> provided in CPR/First Aid to key employees and the handling of <br /> evacuation alarm system with periodic drills . Also hands-on fire <br /> extinguisher training is provided to all emergency response team <br /> members . Appendix 3 . <br /> 5 . PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT <br /> A listing of emergency equipments and their uses is provided in the <br /> Emergency Response Plan. Appendix 3 . <br /> An ;.'J<`;'u;T.i . n .;farm syster:i is present throughout the plant, and <br /> i tion route waps along with emergency equipment <br /> re posre� jughout., the building . <br /> e+y towers and eye wa.';h fountains are readily available in all <br /> areas throughout the facility in which hazardous materials are <br /> present . <br /> Fire extinguishers and fire hoses are provided, mounted, and well <br /> marked . <br /> 6 . WASTE MONITORING SYSTEM <br /> A self-monitoring report is submitted to the City of Manteca regard <br /> the wastewater discharge into the public sewer system. This <br /> monitoring report indicates the levels of solvents, metals, Total <br /> Toxic Organics (TTO's ) , and the pH of the solution . <br /> The wastewater is monitored and treated to comply with local, state <br /> and federal requirements before being discharged into the sewer <br /> system. <br /> Please see the section UPGRADING WASTE STORAGE AREA. <br />
