Shop Technician/Technician JOBOESCRZPTION Essential Functions: • Responsible for equipment maintenance activities generating hazardous waste. • Performs physical waste activities (e.g., filling, moving and labeling containers, preparing waste for shipment, etc.). • Perform daily clean up such as sweeping the shop area, and other facility areas utilizing equipment including street sweepers, pressure washers, etc. • Signing Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests and/or Consolidated Manifests, Bills of Lading, etc. • Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shop through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs. • Small spill clean-up activities as necessary following WM policies/procedures. • Attend weekly/monthly environmental/safety trainings &meetings Training • SPCC plan and Spill Prevention/Response Training (initial &annual) • Hazard Communication Program (initial &annual) • DOT requirements and procedures (initial &annual) • Hazardous Waste Material Business Plan to include Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan (initial & annual) • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (initial &annual) Injury Illness & Prevention Program (initial &annual) • Energy Control Program (initial &annual) • Hazardous Materials/waste training includind; including Universal Waste and CFC containing appliances, and Special and Prohibited Waste (including asbestos) (initial &annual) Education, Skills, and Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age or older, legally eligible to work in the United States, 1 (one) year experience working on heavy trucks and diesel engines, valid driver's license and clean driving record, must be able to supply your own complete set of master mechanic hand tools and impact wrenches, successfully pass pre-employment(post offer) drug screen, background and motor vehicle records check.
