The information needed to complete the application has now <br /> been gathered and Tesoro is finalizing the application. <br /> Tesoro expects to submit the application to the Department of <br /> Toxic Substances Control, with a copy to you, by Friday, <br /> January 20 , 1995 . <br /> Item #22 Submission of Manifest Copies for Out-of-State Shipments <br /> of Hazardous Wastes . <br /> On October 29, 1993 , Tesoro shipped one sealed activated <br /> carbon canister to Cameron-Yakima, Inc . of Yakima, Washington <br /> for regeneration. This canister weighed approximately 1, 750 <br /> pounds . Prior to this date, an activated carbon canister was <br /> shipped from the Stockton facility on May 21 , 1993 . This <br /> canister was delivered to an in-state permitted facility <br /> (Gibson Environmental of Bakersfield, California) . <br /> Tesoro will submit photocopies of completed, returned <br /> manifests for both of these shipments to the Department of <br /> Toxic Substances Control . These manifests will be submitted <br /> at the time we submit the tiered permit notice and <br /> application. For your records and information, I have <br /> attached one set of photocopies of the manifests to today' s <br /> correspondence . <br /> Item #24 Properly Completing, Signing and Dating Manifests <br /> As described in the previous section, our manifests were <br /> properly completed and our files have now been updated with <br /> completely signed and dated documents . <br /> Item #27 Signed Manifests to be Kept On-site for Three Years <br /> As described above, Tesoro has complete copies of manifests on <br /> file at the Stockton facility. These manifests, and future <br /> manifests, will be retained for a minimum of three years from <br /> the date of signature . <br /> Item # 28 and #29 Exception Reports for Un-signed Manifests <br /> As shown in the attachment to this correspondence, Tesoro has <br /> obtained completed manifests for the past two hazardous waste <br /> shipments . Both shipments were sent off-site in 1993 . As <br /> required in CCR 66262 . 42 (Exception Reporting) , Tesoro <br /> contacted the transporter and the designated facility to <br /> confirm that the wastes were properly received and managed. <br /> 2 <br />
