' WORK PRACTICE CONTROL <br /> The work practices that will be implemented on this construction <br /> ' project are discussed in this section. <br /> ' General Work Practices <br /> • Only authorized personnel will be permitted in the <br /> work area. These authorized individuals must have <br /> successfully completed a medical examination and have <br /> been properly trained in the use of respiratory <br /> protective equipment and specific health and safety <br /> ' hazards . <br /> • MSDS will be obtained for every commercial chemical <br /> product used on-site . This information will be made <br /> ' readily available to all employees upon request and <br /> stored in a central location. MSDS or applicable <br /> information will be available with regard to materials <br /> ' used in the soil collection, drilling, and <br /> decontamination process . <br /> ' 0 All secondary containers of any commercial chemical <br /> products will be properly labeled to comply with the <br /> Federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR <br /> 1910. 1200) . <br /> • Protective clothing will be used for various stages of <br /> the entire operation. All information regarding work <br /> to be performed, emergency procedures, and health and <br /> safety hazards will be reviewed before the work begins <br /> during a daily tailgate safety meeting. No work will <br /> ' be performed without completing these procedures . <br /> Respiratory protective equipment will be on site. <br /> • Contaminated protective equipment, such as respirator, <br /> hoses, boots, etc. , shall not be removed from the <br /> regulated area until it has been cleaned, properly <br /> packaged, and labeled. <br /> ' Legible and understandable precautionary labels shall <br /> be affixed prominently to containers of contaminated <br /> ' scap, waste, debris, and clothing. <br /> • Removal of contaminated soil from protective clothing <br /> or equipment by blowing, shaking, or any other means <br /> ' that disperses contaminants into the air is <br /> prohibited. <br /> ' No food or beverages shall be present or consumed in <br /> the regulated area. <br /> ' No tobacco products shall be present or used, and <br /> cosmetics shall not be applied in the regulated area. <br /> A-29 <br /> MA:ENG:9262-AppA/091291 <br />
